SMP for Alopecia
Alopecia is an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss. The most common form of alopecia is areata – This is where hair loss happens in small coin sized patches that leave noticeable gaps of hair on your scalp. These patches can come and go or sometimes they connect, making bigger bald areas and leading to more severe kinds of alopecia, where full hair loss can appear across the scalp and other parts of the body.Alopecia areata can be treated by scalp micropigmentation. Rather than curing the hair loss scalp micropigmentation camouflages hair loss by implanting pigment into the the balding areas to create the illusion of hair follicles. This can also be done across the whole scalp giving the illusion of a full head of shaved hair or disguising the hair loss amongst the natural hair.
